            Hi!  I’m Beth, associate professor of English at North Central State College.  I’m fortunate to work with a great team of professional staff and faculty here, all of whom are trained and dedicated to meeting your needs. 

            In terms of my education and training, both my bachelor’s and my master’s degrees are in English.  I’ve always enjoyed working one-on-one with students who are struggling with writing assignments.  Part of my job, as I see it, is to take some of the “mystery” out of writing.  It’s been my experience that once a student really understands an instructor’s expectations, the assignment pretty much takes care of itself!

            I have a lot of admiration and respect for the students I’m fortunate enough to work with. I find that NC State College students tend to be hard-working, capable individuals, determined to make a better life for themselves and their families.  And I thank those students for all they have taught me in the 20 years I’ve been here at the College.
